Ok so this is only a week later it's true! This was the NT (nuchal translucency) scan where they test the thickness of the baby's neck. They combine this with blood results to come up with a risk ratio for Down's Syndrome. We waited a few weeks for results and Ziggy has a very low risk, 1 in 4500 or something. It's apparently a concern when it is less than 1 in 300 - I think. Then you decide if you want to do an amniocentisis. (the needle into the womb and amniotic fluid withdrawn)
ANYWAY, Ziggy was very naughty and wouldn't lie the right way so the sonographer was poking me all over the place, made me empty my bladder (thank GOODNESS as it was very full) and also jump up and down. felt quite mean to the poor thing actually!
So this is when my bladder was totally full and he didn't have much room to move.
here's one showing his ribs and legs

waving!!!
this is when he got sick of being prodded and turned his back - "so not speaking"!
this is one of the better ones that show a real 'baby' shape. check out the nose!!

and finally the very trippy "3D" shot. this is really quite amazing considering he's only 8cm long. so much detail. her hand is up to her face and you can also see the umbilical cord
